Description

The Hawaiian by Drag Racing Hall of Famer Roland Leong

Produced by GMP in 1:18 scale  -  Item #G1800817

Built in 1964 by legendary engine builder Keith Black, painted blue metallic by Joe Anderson, it debuted at the famous Lion's Drag Strip with Leong at the wheel.  After crashing on his first pass, Don Prudhomme was brought on the team as the new driver.

Leong and Prudhomme won the NHRA Winter Nationals in 1965, and went on tour winning almost every race they entered, including important wins at Pomona and Indy.

The following year, Mike Snively drove the Hawaiian to victory again at Pomona and Indy...two of the biggest races of the year, won two years in a row by two different drivers...a record yet to be duplicated!
